Sones de Mexico
Chicago’s premier Mexican folk musicians return to the Capitol Theater to headline the 29th International Festival. Sones de México bring what the Chicago Reader calls “a dazzling array of Mexican folk-music forms with a preservationist’s care, bursting with energy.” In their own thoroughly modern way, they’ll transport you to a dusty village fandango to an urban barrio and back again. They sold out their show here last year, so get your tickets soon. This presentation is supported by the Performing Arts Fund, a program of Arts Midwest funded by the National Endowment of the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art, with additional contributions from the Wisconsin Arts Board, General Mills Foundation, and Land O'Lakes Foundation.
